Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Axyom VS Code extension and related services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. This agreement is between you and Contraste, a company registered in Canada. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Axyom is a development tool built to act as a safety net, analyzing code within your IDE to detect errors, regressions, and hallucinations often introduced by AI coding assistants. The Service includes the Axyom VS Code extension, our APIs, and the axyom.com website hosted on Netlify.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

We offer both Free and Pro subscription plans. Pro plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually). All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. Contraste reserves the right to modify pricing, though we will provide at least 30 days' notice before any changes apply to your active subscription.

4. User Responsibilities

Axyom is an assistive tool. While we strive to detect regressions and errors, no automated analytical tool can guarantee 100% bug-free code. You remain solely responsible for the correctness, deployment, and security of the code you write. Axyom does not replace standard testing, CI/CD pipelines, or rigorous code review practices.

5. Intellectual Property

Your Code: You retain complete ownership and all intellectual property rights to any source code analyzed by Axyom. We claim no ownership over your work.

Our Service: The Axyom software, extension, UI/UX, and underlying analysis algorithms are the exclusive property of Contraste. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or copy the Service.

6. Third-Party Infrastructure

The Service relies on third-party hosting and infrastructure providers, including Netlify (512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107) for our web properties and Convex for backend architecture. Contraste is not responsible for outages originating from these infrastructure providers.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Contraste shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or source code resulting from your access to or inability to access the Service, or any errors caught or missed by Axyom.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
